Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is a Not-for-profit, multi-service organization that provides services to children and families of Milton and the surrounding communities, as well as professionals who work in the field of Early Childhood Education.

 

We offer a wide range of early learning and child care programs, parental support programs as well as professional development and resources which reflect the needs within Milton and the broader Halton community

 

At MCRC we strive to meet the diverse cultural, social and economic demands of families and professionals by offering a wide range of child care and related services.

 

The Halton Resource Connection (THRC)

THRC - Resource Library

THRC Resource Library provides curriculum resources, equipment and information for child care providers and teachers, as well as learning materials to enhance diversity and inclusion. Resources and supplies focus on children's needs between the ages of 0 to 12 years. Child care centres, home child care providers, family resource centres, community groups and parents can access the THRC Resource Library.

 

THRC - Professional Development

THRC provides and coordinates a diverse range of educational opportunities and professional development, including workshops, courses and conferences. These along with various networking opportunities, have been developed to meet the needs of the child care and early learning community in Halton Region.
 

THRC - Child Care Directory and Information Line (CCDIL)

As a program of THRC, the Child Care Directory and Information Line is a free centralized one stop information service for those seeking quality child care options in Halton. CCDIL provides access to Registered Early Childhood Educators qualified to assist you, a child care search based on your family's unique needs, contact information for all your child care options, and information on how to choose quality child care.

 

THRC - Quality First (QF)

As a program of THRC, Quality First is a community driven initiative providing all licensed child care programs in Halton Region with the opportunity to participate in a developmental model for quality improvement.

 

Early Years

Ontario Early Years Centre, North Halton

As an Ontario Early Years Centre, we offer support and resources to assist parents and caregivers in their roles, as well as provide early learning experiences for children from birth to 6 years of age. A positive learning experience is provided through both drop-in and registered programs. Fees are not charged for Ontario Early Years programs.

 

Family Resource Programs

A variety of programs are offered for parents and their children birth to 6 years of age. Mom and Baby Fitness, Busy Fingers, Messing Around, Cooking Up A Story and Discover Together are just a few of the fee based programs offered.

 

Parent Resource Library

The Parent Resource Library offers a wide range of supportive material and workshops related to family and parenting. Parenting educators are available on-site to help parents find answers to their questions.

 

Early Literacy Initiative

Literacy skills begin early in life and are critical to a child's health, behaviour and success in school. Individual consultations, early literacy activities and workshops for parents/caregivers and professionals are available and can be provided. They are customized and offered in a variety of formats. 

  

Licensed Child Care, Camps and Youth Dances

Bronte Street School and Bruce Trail Early Learning & Child Care Centre - Licensed

Full-time child care spaces are offered at our two licensed Child Care Centres. A Reggio Emilia approach to early learning for children ages 18 months to 5 years is supported through the emergent curriculum. Both of our licensed Child Care Centres are Quality First participants.

 

Before and After School Programs - Licensed

MCRC offers a seamless program for children in JK-Gr.6 and their families within their own school. Programs are located at Bruce Trail P.S, Campbellville Lions Hall (serving children from Brookville P.S), Chris Hadfield P.S, Hawthorne Village P.S, P.L. Robertson P.S and Tiger Jeet Singh P.S.

 

Artists and Children Together (ACT)

Artists and Children Together is the newly redesigned Art at the Centre program. By reaching out and building relationships in the community with local artists, the Artists and Children Together program will ensure that many forms of art are utilized as a language for communication. Artists from a broad range of disciplines will work directly in the classroom with children and teachers, observing and building upon children's interests with an aesthetic approach. CHERISH Home Child Care - Licensed

This program is licensed by the Ministry of Education. Each provider can have a maximum of five children, including their own children, under six years of age. Of those five children, only two can be under two, or three under three. Each home is visited by a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), once a month, unannounced.

 

Nursery School - Licensed

Nursery School is a 2.5 hour program provided in Milton and in Campbellville for children 2.5-5 years old. Our Nursery School also follows a Reggio Emilia approach to early learning. Teachers facilitate children's explorations and experiences of discovery and problem solving and include opportunities for interactive play, creative art, science, dramatic play and music and movement.

 

Summer, Winter, P.A. Day & March Break School Age Camps - Licensed

Licensed programs are available for children in JK-Gr.6. Our camps offer children a safe and caring environment where they can investigate the arts, participate in hands on science and nature explorations and be physically active through a variety of team games, sports and walks. Children also take part in exciting field trips and visits with special guests, and build relationships with peers and adults.

 

Youth Dance

MCRC’s Friday Night Youth Dances are for children in Grades 5 through 8 and are held as a fundraising activity for MCRC. Proceeds go directly towards the various programs offered to children and families in Milton and surrounding areas. All dances are chaperoned by staff and parent volunteers.
