Parent Resource Library

The Parent Resource Library offers a selection of books, videos and reference material on loan free of charge. Library resources can be borrowed for two week periods. Articles and tip sheets on a range of topics related to parenting are also available.
Parent Resource Kits are also available for a nominal fee. These bags of reusable resources allow adults to explore specific topics with children.
Library Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 pm
Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 pm (fall through spring)
Workshops & Networking Groups
Seasonal parenting series and individual workshops are offered. These provide information on a range of topics related to the growth and development of young children and families.

Networking Groups
Our Networking Groups are offered in seasonal series - fall, winter and spring. These daytime groups provide the opportunity for parents and caregivers to share ideas and build on their knowledge and skills in a relaxed, informal setting. A calendar of guest speakers and specific guided discussion times is provided at the start of each series. Groups are as follows:
Marvellous Monday Morning Networking - Child care is available during networking sessions for children newborn to 6 years. A refundable deposit is required to hold each child care space. Registration is by lottery.
With My Baby Networking – Parents attend this Wednesday morning group with their “not yet fully mobile” infants. Sessions offer parents the opportunity to get together, share, and hear guest speakers address topics related to family and parenting. Registration is required and is on a first-come-first served basis.

Specific mini-workshops are offered off-site to groups of 10 or more participants. For a list of topics currently available or to book a session contact the Parent Resource Coordinator, 905-876-1244, ex.22.
Special Events
Special events are held seasonally. These focus on topics of interest to young families. Previous events include:
- Nutrition Fair – providing visitors with the opportunity to browse displays and gather resources about healthy eating
- Parenting Together Seminar – those parenting with a partner share a meal together and explore ways to support each other in the parenting role
Registration for events opens approximately four weeks before the session. Unless otherwise stated, registration for programs is first come first served.
